Login and registration

Help! I've lost my password!

You can retrieve your password by clicking here and following the instructions. You will need to enter the email address that we have on file for your account. We'll then send you an email with a link to a web page which will allow you to set a new password. Alternatively, you can contact support.

I registered but I still can't log in?

Did you receive an email from us welcoming you to Zimki? If you didn't you may have typed your email address incorrectly. If you did then perhaps you've forgotten your password. If you've gone through the forgotten password procedure, and you're still having problems, try contacting our support team.

Will you share my personal information with a third party?

We will never reveal your details to a third party; we keep your personal information private in accordance with our privacy policy and our terms and conditions.

Account management

How do I change my profile?

Once you've logged in to your account you can change all your settings in your profile page.

You'll find the link to your profile page on the left hand side, under the "account" section.

How can I cancel my Zimki account?

If you wish to cancel your account with us (and we're really sorry if that is the case!) please drop our support team an email, and we'll get on it straight away.

Cost and billing

How much does Zimki cost?

Zimki is billed as a utility, and so the cost varies by how much you use. At the moment we're not charging anything, but we're going to change that soon. Once we start billing, we'll be charging on token consumption on three meters. For more information on what those meters are, how much tokens are, and a full breakdown of what things will cost have a look at our pricing page.

Is there a limit on how much you can store in Zimki?

For now there is. We're limiting you to a gigabyte of data storage. We think that's pretty generous for a service that isn't costing you anything yet! Once we turn the full billing and payment system on we'll remove that limit, and if you need to use more, you'll simply pay more.

How much does it cost to get started?

Zimki won't cost you anything to get started. Because we sell Zimki as a utility there isn't any up-front charge to sign up and start developing. You'll simply pay for the resources you use.

Accounting and legal

I require an invoice for my transaction, can you provide this?

We're not charging anything at the moment, so it's unlikely that you'll need either a receipt or an invoice. However, when we do we'll be happy to provide either upon request. There will also be the ability to use PayPal for transactions, and PayPal can produce electronic receipts for you.

How do I get refunded or credited for incorrect billing?

Customers will need to contact Customer Support. Once the query has been resolved, you will be refunded or credited. The credit will be in the form of tokens into your account.

I am based outside of the European Union, do I have to pay VAT?

Yes. Fotango is obliged to charge VAT to all customers unless VAT registered in the European Union.

How often will I be billed?

Zimki is a pre-paid service and your account will need to be in credit in order for your applications to function. You'll need to buy tokens up front, and you'll pay for them there and then.

We are considering introducing monthly invoicing later on, and would love to hear any feedback for and against the idea.

Will I be charged for a transaction in a foreign currency?

Fotango doesn't charge for foreign currency transactions as we are only dealing in Pounds Sterling, however your bank or credit card provider could charge you a fee if your local currency is not Pounds Sterling.

Can I pay in my local currency?

PayPal currently offers the option of paying in 7 different currencies - Canadian Dollars, Euros, Pounds Sterling, U.S. Dollars, Yen and Australian Dollars. We will, however, be charging in Pounds Sterling.

How do you deal with fraud issues?

Most credit cards offer cardholder protection and will issue a chargeback request if a cardholder feels the transaction is fraudulent. PayPal will also assist in fighting this.

What is the legal perspective outside of the European Union?

Our Terms and Conditions are subject to the laws of England & Wales, therefore any action taken by us or our customers will fall under the UK jurisdiction and legislation.

Training and development

What do I need to know to use Zimki?

Not a great deal! Although being a programmer already will help, Zimki is built around JavaScript, which is a language that many people have learnt as a first language. As you get better with JavaScript, the things you can do will no doubt get bigger and better as well!

If you want help on improving your JavaScript knowledge, we really recommend "JavaScript; The Definitive Guide" published by O'Reilly. If you'd like to arrange training on the Zimki platform itself, it can be arranged by contacting us.

Can I use my own editor, rather than your portal?

Our portal exports everything it does in a flickr-like API
